BREAKING: Release Kanu to us, eastern elders tell Buhari - Biafra

South East Forum has asked the Federal Government to release the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of Radio Biafra,  Nnamdi  Kanu to it for the elders to talk to him.
This was one of the issues the forum discussed in its meeting in Enugu a couple of days ago, according to its convener, Dr. Dozie Ikedife who made the disclosure to our correspondent in Nnewi, Anambra State.

Abuja airport will be reopened tomorrow, set for operations - DG, NCAA

Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Usman Muktar, said the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, runway is ready for operation and will be reopened tomorrow.

He stated this yesterday during an inspection of the airport’s runway.

The Abuja airport was closed on March 8 for six weeks to enable rehabilitation of its 3.6 kilometres runway to be carried out. Flight activities were consequently diverted to Kaduna International Airport during the period.

Customs urges Nigerians to see smuggling as crime

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has urged Nigerians to see smuggling as a crime and support it to succeed in the war against smugglers.
Mr. Joseph Attah, its Public Relations Officer, made the appeal yesterday in Abuja.He said the service anti-smuggling strategy was yielding positive dividend, adding that in the past three months, the service seized 136,506 bags of rice.

FRSC warns truck drivers against overloading

The Lagos State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Hyginus Omeje, has warned articulated vehicle drivers against loading their vehicles above bridgeheads and electrical installations.
Omeje who gave the warning in Lagos, yesterday, said some trucks in the city centre usually took the risk of carrying containers or loads that were higher than electrical cables, foot and flyover bridges.
