Don't miss! UI Special Notice To 2017 Post-UTME Candidates

This is to inform University of Ibadan Post-UTME candidates who could not find their names on the Admission Portal during the login exercise to kindly check their names in the list that is now available online to login. 


They should follow the instructions on the admission portal to submit their bio-data.

ABU Remedial And IJMB Entrance Exam Date And Requirements For 2017/2018 Released

This is to notify all candidates who have applied for the 2017/2018 admission into Ahmadu Bello University, School of Basic and Remedial Studies, Funtua;

that the mandatory pre-admission screening exercise and test for both Remedial and Basic (IJMB) programme is scheduled to take place from Monday 16th to Thursday 19th October 2017.

The exercise is to take place from 7:00am daily in the SBRS Assembly hall as follows:

A. SCREENING/TEST FOR APPLICANTS INTO REMEDIAL PROGRAMME

Group 1: Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara, Plateau and FCT Abuja
Date: Monday 16TH October, 2017.

Group 2: Kogi, Katsina, Niger, Nasarawa, Benue and Jigawa States
Date: Tuesday 17TH October, 2017.

Group 3: Kwara, Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Kebbi, Sokoto, Bauchi, and Taraba states

After violent protest by students Federal Poly Ado Shut Down Indefinitely


Following the violent protest by students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti last week, the school's management has indefinitely shut down the school on Sunday, shut down.

According to reports, two students had complained of being down with malaria, they were rushed to the Polytechnic Health Centre for treatment, but died on Saturday.

Beware of monkey pox disease and abstain from eating certain foods - FG warns



The Federal Ministry of Health has listed foods Nigerians must avoid in other not to contract the monkey pox disease. According to FG foods like monkey meat, bushmeat and meat from dead animals must be avoided.This list was given by Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, via a statement by the Director, Media and Public Relations in the ministry, Mrs. Boade Akinola, on Thursday...

It was also revealed that the disease neither had a cure nor a vaccine, noting, however, it is a mild and there should be no cause for alarm.

JAMB: UNILORIN speaks on ‘admission list, screening date’


University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) says it was yet to release the provisional admission list and screening date for candidates that chose the institution in their JAMB forms. Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs Department of the University, Kunle Akogun, said this in a chat with newsmen on Wednesday. He said: “The attention of the management of the University of Ilorin has been drawn to a statement currently trending on some social media platforms.

JAMB: Group calls for suspension of Computer Based Test, wants Oloyede sacked


- The controversy surrounding the recently held Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is still on 
- JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, is at the center of the storm 
- A group has called for the sack of Professor Oloyede as a result of a fall-out from the exams.
A group, African Community Impact and Development Network (Afri-CID) has called for the suspension of Computer Based Test (CBT) in JAMB examinations till further notice, citing some anomalies, which undermines the plus of the exercise.

*MUST READ* How to check your May/June 2017 WASSCE result


- Candidates who sat for the May/June 2017 WASSCE exams can check their results on the WAEC website
- Out of 1,559,162 candidates who sat for the examinations this year, 13.79% of them had their results withheld
- The overall results also recorded a 59.22% pass in English Language and Mathematics
The results of this year’s May/June WASSCE has been released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). According to reports, the results were released on Monday July 17, and candidates can go to the Council’s website- www.waecdirect.org- to check theirs. Here are the steps to take:

FG abolishes BSc/HND partition in paramilitary services


The Federal Government has abolished the dichotomy between university degree holders and those of Higher National Diplomas HND in the paramilitary services. 
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji announced this in a statement Thursday in Abuja.

UTME Admission Screening: Good WASSCE result is key —Varsities


The hope of many students seeking admission into Nigerian universities may be dashed if the admission screening in 2017 is based on students’ WASSCE results and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scores.  Recall that in 2016, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, abolished post-UTME as a means of admitting candidates into tertiary institutions.
