Bitcoin Tumbles to Lowest Level in More Than a Week
Bitcoin declined as much as 11 percent to an intraday low of $2,409.50. The slide follows declines last week by rival digital currencies such as ether, which caused cryptocurrency exchanges Bitfinex and ShapeShift to halt trading.
Bitcoin has still more than doubled its value since the beginning of the year amid greater acceptance of the blockchain technology that underpins the exchange method and increased interest in Asia.
